These templates are for making a tri-fold, travel-style notebook cover—the kind that uses elastic cords to hold removable inserts. You can find refills pretty much anywhere (Amazon, Etsy, etc.).

To build it: trace the template, cut your leather, and punch the holes for the elastic system. The tri-fold layout folds flat and holds inserts in place once the elastics are threaded through.

You'll need to grab your own elastic cord for the closures and internal bands. We use both 1.5mm and 2mm cord in our examples. Use 1.5mm if you want to replicate the Louise Carmen / Paper Republic aesthetic.

If you're getting the acrylic templates, just pick your corner style at checkout—square or rounded.

  • Standard "Traveler" Size Notebook (001): 4.3" x 8.3" (114 mm x 216 mm)
